Join me and other members of Killing Commercial for this #CBK members-only fun-in-the-sun event in Key West Florida. 

In June we are having our 4th annual #CBK event in Key West, FL. All Killing Commercial members are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring their significant others with them. While we highly encourage everyone to bring their spouse or significant other for the weekend, Key West is not the most conducive environment for a typical family vacation. Especially for little ones.  If you would like to bring your kids, please reach out to David Carothers as he can suggest some alternative lodging arrangements that would be more family friendly than Duval St.

The dates are Thursday 6/20 through Monday 6/24. You cover your travel, food, and lodging and I’ll cover the fishing and knowledge sharing and promise you will not be bored.

Don’t worry about the times we are meeting.  The spouse/significant other group always have plans to keep them busy. They won’t be disappointed.

Most of our activities are centered around Duval St. so please plan your stay accordingly. 

Offshore fishing is on Sunday. It is an all-day trip. All members are welcome to come fishing but it is OK if you chose to do something else.  In the interest of limited space and cost, we respectfully ask that the fishing excursion be limited to agents and spouses/significant others only. 

Each year, we have an end of event dinner where a bunch of our fish gets cooked up family-style and everyone ets to enjoy the rewards of a day on the water. It was a huge hit.

I can promise 3 things.

  1. You will have an awesome time hanging out.
  2. You will catch some awesome fish on awesome boats and
  3. Just like last year, there will be enough nuggets found in the breakout sessions that you will write an exponent of what it costs you to join us. third

Thursday, June 20

  • People will begin arriving (if they didn’t come on Wednesday night).
  • 3:00pm – 5:00pm Happy Hour at Rick’s Tree Bar on Duval sponsored by Solomon Strategic Advisors
  • 6:00pm – Be at the dock by Sunset Pier to board the sunset cruise.  It is IMPERATIVE you be on time.
  • 6:30 – 8:30 Sunset Cruise Sponsored by Vertafore – MUST SIGN THIS WAIVER
  • Free time the rest of the night.  Annie and I will likely be at Smokin Tuna.

Friday, June 21

  • 11:00am – 11:30am –  Opening of Producers in Paradise at Durty Harry’s on Duval. We will meet under the cover at Dirty Harry’s.  Go to the Tree Bar and walk straight to the back. Food provided by Angelina’s Pizza.
  • 11:30 – 2:00pm – Mick Hunt and Vertafore will be presenting on RevOps in your agency.  
  • 2:00 – 3:00pm – Braishfield, Jencap, ProWriters and Chenango Brokers will have a panel discussion on the current state of the wholesale market. 
  • 3:00pm – Dismiss and the rest of the day is free time.  I encourage you all to put together groups for dinner, etc.  Also lots of shop talk in The Saint Pool prior to dinner.
  • Free Time the rest of the night.
  • Emerge Apps is sponsoring dinner at Lola’s (invite only) for the early seating at 6pm
  • LeO is sponsoring dinner at Lola’s (invite only) for the late seating at 8:00 PM

Saturday, June 22

  • 11:00am – 12:30 – leading with OSHA and compliance with Michael Zalle, Kevin Ring and Dustin Boss
  • 12:30 – 1:30pm – The state of the virtual professional marketplace with Virtual Intelligence
  • 1:30 – 2:00 – The state of the cyber marketplace with ProWriters
  • 2:00 – 2:30 – Developing the Leaders in Your Agency with Ashley Napier
  • 2:30 – 3:00pm – 2023-24 Vision for Killing Commercial with David
  • 3pm – Free time for the rest of the night.

Sunday, June 23

  • 7:45 am – Be at Beach Weekend Marina (formerly Murray Marina) on US 1. More instructions will come out regarding the fishing trip.
  • 9:30 am – Be at the dock for the Eco Tour. MUST SIGN THIS WAIVER
  • 4:00 pm – Fishing wraps up and they clean the fish.
  • 5:00 or 5:30pm – IF and that’s a big IF we catch tuna, come over to The Saint for the freshest sushi you can possibly imagine.  We will have fresh sushi and sashimi made at Thai Island and bring it back to The Sain.
  • 7:00pm:  The last dinner at Dante’s. We will be meeting at Dante’s again this year to eat our catch and close out an awesome weekend.

Monday, June 24

  • Head out.

Let's Catch the Big One Together

I caught this beauty (aka Kingfish) my last time in Key West. We will be fishing on 6 person charter boats like you see behind me, not the big party boats.
